In Honor of SMW 2013!

Hello, hello all my Sunday Obsessionites! In honor of Social Media Week 2013 I decided to share with you my 3 social media obsessions of the week!

First off is Twitter Hashtags! Yes, I know everyone uses them, but I have to admit I am obsessed with it! Pretty much every tweet I ever send out in the Twittersphere has a hashtag attached to it! During award shows and major TV events I like to add a trending hashtag onto my Tweets in order to create a conversation with the rest of the world! I have to say I have a little bit of an ulterior motive in this case because joining in on the conversation of a trending topic significantly increases my chances of getting a re-tweet(RT). Let's face it, who doesn't love a RT?

My second social media obsession is with Pinterest boards! I have 35 boards and counting! I have private boards and boards I share with my friends. It’s such an easy way to keep all my obsessions in check and organized! My favorite board is called “Walking in My Shoes” it is all about the amazing clothes I would own, if only I lived life without a budget. Aside from what I actually pin in my boards I also love creating fun names for them. Some of my best are “Apartment Life Minus The Budget,” “To Accent the Tiara,” and “When Did Obsession Become a Bad Thing?” When it comes to board titles the more creative the better!

To round off my social media obsessions I end with Google Hangouts! It’s like Skype, but better! You can add a ton of people to your ‘hangout’ plus, unlike Skype where you can only video chat with one friend, unless you pay and I’m cheep so there will be none of that! Another bonus is that there are a ton of really cool apps that you can use during your video chat. My two favorite are the Sporcle app, where you can compete against your friends on trivia games, and another app where you can add weird things to your screen, such as mustaches or clown hats.

Google Hangout is perfect for late night chats with college friends when you realize that being stuck at home with mom and dad just isn’t cutting it during those long school breaks!

I’ve shared with you, now you share with me! Let me know which aspects of social media are your favorites!

Until Next Sunday!
