Hey Obsessionites,
I would like to first start off by saying I am sorry for the delay! I have been off my blogger game and am now resorting to a game of catch-up! So, I hope you have some extra free time this week to play catch-up with me!
On another note, Happy St. Patrick's Day! I am 100% Irish so clearly this is the best day of the year! But, as a true Irish woman I must now rant about a few things that make this day not so great! So, this week here are the things that have fueled a negative obsession!
#1. March 17th is known as St. Patrick's Day or to shorten St. PADDY'S Day. NOT, St. Patty's Day. Last time I checked St. Patrica never freed Ireland from a plague of snakes, so in comparison doesn't deserve a day.

#2. Food is not better, or more festive, if it is dyed green. Eggs, bagels, sausage; whatever! If a food is not naturally green then it should not be forced to become green for St. Patrick's Day! Plus, I don't know about you, but this doesn't look appetizing to me!

#3. The outfits. I'm not sure if it is just because I am in New York City with the longest running St. Patrick's Day parade and uncountable amounts of bars surrounding it, or if this is a nation wide trend, but let's ditch the ridiculous outfits! All the outrageous hats, socks, and t-shirts they are too much for me. Maybe it's because I am not only 100% Irish, but also 100% sober; but outfits like the one below disgrace my culture.

Thanks for listening to my rant!
Until Sunday!

Hey there Caitlin,
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, I have to say that I really adore your blog idea and your execution. It’s really put together, and it reads like a conversation. I think the coined term “Obsessionites” is really clever, and this feels like a website I would want to subscribe to; very similar to Her Campus or Dormify. It’s informal and has a good balance of opinions, facts, and humor.
As far as constructive criticism goes, I only have two potential ideas. I don’t really watch too much television, and when I do, it’s usually not anything too mainstream. Because of this, I was a tiny bit lost when I read your post on Celebrity Apprentice. It would’ve been really cool and helpful if you attached a link that led to the show’s website or some funny gifs to give a brief idea of what it’s really like. What if you did some sort of a monthly recap that’s specifically about trends that other people are obsessed with. I think some kind of satirical video would be really entertaining to watch.
